I have a Razr V3 that is only 1 month old and this morning the keypad
stopped working. I can still see everything. The only button that will
work is the red call end/off button. It will not let me do anything. I
can see incoming calls but I am not able to answer. I have removed the
battery and put back on to see if this would help, but it did not. My
mom has this same phone and has never had any problems with hers. Does
anyone know what I can do?

Your phone probably has liquid damage, if u know how to open the screws on the back cover then u can attempt to sort the liquid damage out, if not take it in to a service centre. there are 3 keypad ic's next to the flex connector which are causing the phone keypad not to work.

when I open my phone it seems to be stuck on the right arrow button so it goes to "IM account". I was really confused this morning because even if I click exit, it goes back to the same thing on its own. when I get a chance to press menu, it just whirls around as if I'm pressing the arrow over to choose a category but I'm not.. its weird.. probably the weirdest phone I've ever had
my son's phone is about 7 months old too and today when i turned it on it would not go past verizon welcome screen, no matter what. i don't use this phone, but if your volume controller is on the keyboard it could be that the keypad is going bad, which appears to be common with the razr. if it is the keypad, you can pick up a keypad flex cable for about $12 on ebay, and it's a very easy fix, but if it's just 7 months old, i'd return it under warranty, that's what i'm going to do. Let me know what you find out. I just think it's really strange that our phone suffered no damage of any kind, it just quit.
This happened to mine after I got the Razor wet - I pulled the battery and the sim card, blew it out with a can of compressed air and it worked for about 8 months. Then it got hot out in my car and started doing the same thing - blowing it out hasnt worked again-
I would try everything I could to see if they would warranty it anyway. Otherwise this seems like a software problem go to motorola's support page and get their software upgrader as well as a data cable driver for your phone. Then all you need is a mini usb cable. Motorola says you need a certified one but I have never used theirs and they charge ENTIRELY too much for them.
