PSP 3000 fails to turn on completely

It clearly says on the downloading screen that you must not turn off the PSP, disconnect the AC charger (if connected), or put the PSP in sleep mode. Pretty much leave it alone when you download it. To reset the PSP, you can take out the battery and put it back in and it should work again. Then re-download the update.

Hello :

First you need to check the charger . If charger is working fine , then check the power cord . If the power cord is working fine , then the problem is that the battery is dead [ can't be recharged anymore ] . You need to replace the battery in a such situation .
If it's none of that , then I recommend you to replace it , if you still have the guarantee . Or just take it to the service .

You can try plugging it in to your tv via a component cable and see if it works. If it does then you have a screen issue, if not, then you have a mobo issue. either way, sell it on ebay.

I FINALLY GO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!....take the battery out 4 a few secz n pop it back

the motor for the laser might not be moving if not u have to clean every thing out and make sure there is no hair or dirt in any the and it should work fine

I dont know how technical savvy you are but there are several DIY guides on the internet to replace the UMD drive which often fails on the PSP.

If not type in google psp repair.. there are plenty of place that do repairs.

Try taking the battery out and plugging it into the wall with only the charger and see if it turns on. does The green light came on?.

Try to charge your PSP with your son's PSP charger and your problem should be solved if so your PSP charger is faulty.
