These types of problems are allways hard to diagnose.. If you were to power on the set and preform tests, you would think that everything was fine until the moment it shuts off.

Look on the main power board and see if you cant find the thyristor (thermal switch), those are the things that when heated will cause the set to power off for safety reasons.. They are normally placed where ever a large heatsink is. That may give you a location as to the problem and you can put a meter around its 2 pins with the set off and unplugged a couple of min after failure, if its short (0 ohms) thats not the problem, if its open, it triggered the event.

Second, you can run the set for a while and check the voltages and Ve, Va, VCC, Vsetup etc and compair to the markings on the plasma PDP sticker. If you see one is falling down over time (volts will be lost as heat) then you can isolate that portion of the supply.

Third and allways the best way to go about these problems is buy a thermal gun and moniter various spots for heat.

Its just vary hard to say, resistance could be off somewhere, diodes could be overheating as well as fets and caps. Thats why a good thermal gun can point you to exactly where the problem is.

Hope this info helps, but I would suspect the problem is on the main power supply itself and not the y sus and z sus boards side boards.

SOURCE: Our display board was replaced now the y sustainer board needs replaced

Three suggestions:
Contact http://www.ptscorp.com/television.html. They have a selection of replacement boards or will repair it Fees are usually $50 to $125 and I have had great success with them.
Another would be to try www.shopjimmy.com and lastly do a Google search, if you know the exact part number, to find other sources for the board.

Check your resolution output from laptop it maybe set to high for the TV to handle, also go to the Display Properties and ensure that the second monitor out is enable. Good luck!!

Replace the inverter board 6632L-0506A. In all fairness I'd check that it receives 24V first, but usually it's the inverter and not the power board. I believe we carry those...I might be wrong. I know we replaced some of them in the past years.

Eight out of 10 times this would actually be the inverter board where usually a transformer has gone bad. It's not worth fixing the transformer (although often possible) - just replace the inverter itself.

if you can't find many inverters online, e.g. on eBay, that's a good sign you're on the right track with the diagnose.

The 9th time it would be the power board, usually due to bad filter capacitors at the exit; those are usually seen with ***** eye on the power board itself.

The 10th time it could be something else such as the main board or the T-Con; in fact, probably less often that that.

Hope this helps. If it does please rate it accordingly. We enjoy positive feedback :-)

Could please help me how to fix Toshiba Regza 32LV67U 32 in. HDTV LCD TV TV/DVD Combo Blank screen

Fault in the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Hello,
Check for dry soldering, bulged capacitor, but if otherwise Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

Thanks and take care...

Toshiba REGZA 37AV555D smashed screen

Yes the screens can be replaced and if you're half decent with a screw driver (and have the patience of a monk) it's probably worth attempting yourself.

Ball park figure for a new screen is around £150 but I recommend you get on eBay and buy either a used screen or smashed up laptop and take the screen off that. It should work out a much cheaper repair.

Settings

Have to reset or it is reset to factory settings?

Has anyone been playing with this TV, i.e. repairing it, replacing boards etc?

I believe - do not know it for a fact - that Samsung has this protection in palce which identifies the boards in a TV and once you switch a board the TV needs to go through a service re-administration to remember its current configuration.

There's no explanation of why would a TV need to do that other than to restrict users to Samsung service centers only.

Again I do not know this for a fact, but I have seen other Samsung TVs that do exactly the same and they start doing it upon replacing boards on them. It's a simple logic.

The left side of the screen is black right side is fine

Chances are you have a LCD Panel that has failed.
I would call Toshiba at 1800-631-3811 and see if they could assist you in the repair cost. It would require a Service Facility that is Toshiba authorized
to confirm the symptom.
I hope this helps,
