Sony wega kdf42we655 power led blinking red

Will not start up. when power button pushed hear "fan" type sound briefly then nothing.

    Thanks, I had just replaced the bulb. Turned out that I hadn't pushed the lamp cover in securely enough. Took it out, put back in until I heard a click, then screwed in place. Worked perfectly. (Also- turns out the solution was right there in the owners manual after all!)

If lamp light is on at tv front then replace lamp as existing lamp sounds dead/ broken.
Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual of tv.
And if lamp light is not on but standby light is blinking then let me know how many times it is blinking to find out problem cause as standby light blinking is an error code.

Sony HD Projection TV KDP-57WS550, timer light blinks 5 times and repeats sequence. When power button is pushed sound comes on briefly, no picture, then TV goes off. Please advise.
Mine did this after a power flash. Lights blinking 5 or 6. They blink fast lol. I have sound till tv powers back down. Front yard bond fire? Or any ideas? Thx.

No picture or sound
Does anything start to work? Any of the three fans start to turn, Lamp ignite, etc., when you press the power button or does nothing happen before the Red LED starts blinking. How many times does the RED LED blink?

Did you notice if the screen has been recently going darker if so the lamp has gone.You can check it by removing the lamp and looking at it you will see a grey smoked area or even the lamp mount broken inside the lamp.

TV won't turn on, standby LED starts blinking

Power LED blinks red
it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea
