Apple's iPod touch, a portable music player with a touchscreen display, is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that provides up to 40 hours of audio playback and up to seven hours of video playback when fully charged. To conserve power, the iPod touch locks by default after a minute of not being used. If you want to use your iPod touch after it locks, you will need to unlock it. It's not the camera, it's the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Go to your security settings and put in a password, this will give you an option to lock your phone.
