If your Iniglo watch is not lighting up and you are unable to change the date, there may be a problem with the battery or the watch's internal components. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the battery: Make sure the battery is installed correctly and has a sufficient charge. If the battery is dead or low, try replacing it with a new one.
Clean the contacts: Use a soft cloth to clean the battery contacts and the contact points inside the watch to ensure a good connection.
Check the setting: Make sure the watch's backlight setting is turned on and the brightness is adjusted to a level that allows you to see the display in the current lighting conditions.
Reset the watch: Try resetting the watch by pressing and holding the "reset" button (if your watch have) for a few seconds.
Check for water damage: If the watch has been exposed to water, it could cause damage to the electronic components. If water has entered the watch, it is best to take it to a professional watch repair center for service.
Check if the watch have a warranty: If the watch is still under warranty, you should contact the manufacturer for service or repair.
This watch is a chronograph. The true second hand is the one you mentioned that is currently running (what is called the subdial hand).
To use the chronograph hand,
1) Press the button at the 2:00 location to start timing. 2) Press the button at the 2:00 location to stop timing. 3) Press the button at the 4:00 position to reset the chronograph hand(s) to zero.
To reset the chronograph hands to zero, set the crown to either click position one (usually date setting) or two (usually time setting), and use each button to test which subdial hand it will zero out.
Usually it is the first crown click position, and pressing the 2:00 or 4:00 button to zero out.
Warning: Leaving the chronograph function running will drain your watch battery much faster than using the standard second hand, as it is a complication meant for the purpose of timing an activity or other event.
If this does not zero your watch, you must either send it back to Michele, or visit your nearest Certified Master Horologist to assess the issue, as the movement may have a defect.
The push button at 2 o'clock is START/STOP/RESTART button for chronograph function. Push button at 4 is for RESET (it resets chronograph hand to zero when pushed). Crown at 3 is for time and date setting. When pulled out to first click, it changes the dates by the means of turning it. When pulled out to the second click, it sets the time by turning it.
I had a similar problem with my Casio watch when I changed the battery. I put it to one side and used another one and eventually it re-set itself (it took some days I think, although I wasn't watching it too closely.
I think I figured it out:
(Start + Reset) = toggle alarm on/off ("ALM" will display in upper left corner when alarm is on.
(press Mode once) will bring you in chrono mode, where "start" button starts and stops the chrono, and "reset" button resets it back to zero
(press Mode once more) will bring you to setting of time for alarm. Set the "hour" value by pressing "start" repeatedly, then press "reset" and set the "minute" value by pressing "start" repeatedly
(press Mode once more) will bring you to setting of time for actual time. Reset the "Seconds" value to zero by pressing "start" button once, then press "reset" and set the "minute" value by pressing "start" repeatedly, then press "reset" and set the "hour" value by pressing "start" repeatedly (if it shows "H" in upper right corner, time will be displayed euro-style 0:00-23:59, if it shows "A" time will be displayed 12am/12pm), then press "reset" and set the "day of month" value by pressing "start" repeatedly, then press "reset" and set the "month" value (1-12) by pressing "start" repeatedly, then press "reset" and set the "day of week" value (Su-Sa) by pressing "start" repeatedly
(press Mode once more) voila!
thats because analog watches don't know the difference between AM/PM. First reset the time, moving the hour and minute hands another 12 hours will let you know exactly what mode its in (am/pm) first allowing you to set the date correctly.
