Smell gas in front of the stove every now and then

You need a gas connection .then flex tube channel locks or a pipe wrench and some Teflon tape. Connection should have shut off valve.should be shut off. Put Teflon tape on threads then connect the connectors. Open valve.check your work twice listen and use your nose for a foul smell.

I have the same issue when the tank starts to get low and nearing the time too refill. Just thought I would share that in case that is the issue. I also redid all my connections the first time it happened.

Please do not use the stove, get it checked out for a gas leak it is very dangerous.

Hello tds. It is not uncommon to smell gas when you open an oven door. That said, if the amount of gas you smell is stronger than it used to be call your gas company. They will send out a technician, free of charge, to check your stove. Joe

turn off the stove and call the gas company. They will come out for free and check things out. It's dangerous to be there when you're smelling gas. If you want to look into it yourself, use a soapy solution in a spray bottle and spray the gas valve and the gas line all the way from the valve to where it connects into the stove.

Look In broiler compartment and check for signs of mice

Hi the fact that you smell gas near the floor suggests you do indeed have a gas leak, propane is heavier than air to will fall to the floor.

For safety purposes call gas technician to check your gas pipe. If stove turn off supposed not to smell gas.

Not getting gas so check gas outlet in the bottom of the oven for clogs , if not clogged the thermostat is bad
