I PUT THE WRONG NAME IN MY CONTACT DETAILS HOW DO I DELETE IT ? THIS ON MY HP COMPUTER .ON THE MESSENGER YAHOO MESSENGER

Well, if you are running Android, launch Yahoo Messenger (i.e. put it in the foreground) and tap & hold over the contact you want to remove. When a context menu comes up, tap 'Contact Details'. Then, tap 'Edit' (on the top right). Scroll down. At the very bottom, you'll find 'Delete Contact'.

To delete someone from your Messenger List:

1. Click the contact's name while pressing the Control key to highlight the contact. (You can also right-click on the contact's name.)
2. Select Delete.
3. Click the Delete confirmation.

To delete someone using the Contacts menu:

1. Click the contact's name in your Messenger List.
2. Click the Contacts menu and select Delete.
3. Click the Delete confirmation.

3. Check the box on "delete from address book, too" if you want it to be removed from yahoo address book.

Sign into your yahoo messenger first ...then Click on "Messenger" at the top of your Contact List, then click on My Contact Details, take out what you want and put in what you want.

click SAVE & CLOSE, or Apply

Delete all information on the contact card.
Set your name on the "Nickname" field.

From your main Yahoo! Messenger window, click on Messenger on the menu and choose Contact Details. You can change there your name or nickname and other information.

3. Go to the top of the list and click the Delete button.

Go to Messenger. When your list of Contacts opens, right click next to the name you wish to remove and select Delete from the drop down menu. The contact will be removed here also.
Error Code 40402 pops up when trying to remove a name while in your Yahoo Instant Messenger list first.

c:/program files/Yahoo/Messenger/Cache


That usually solves a lot of problems, that occur all of a sudden. Try that and see if it works

once its downloaded select 'registry' from toolbar on left hand side and run 'scan for issues' followed by 'fix selected errors' if errors are detected

While on yahoo messenger go to Messenger at the top left, My Contact Details, a box will open.. at the top of the box there will be a lil box that says Nickname under it.. put whatever u want your name to be in that box and hit Save/Close.
