www.autohotkey.com - freeware - allows you to "package" a number of
keystrokes into a "keyboard macro" and invoke that macro thru
the use of a "hotkey." Keyboard macros can be as short as one
function key, but some Win7 function keys cannot be ove-written, such as F5

There are two hidden screws under the two stickers on the back of the keyboard. Just feel around for slight indentations and stick your screwdriver bit down into it and unscrew. Keep in mind though, this may void your warranty.

usually to use the extra shortcut keys you have to load on some software, from microsoft's website or from the disk that came with the keyboard, without it, the keyboard will only work in a basic manner

not being a smart alek but did you try changing the batteries? and if you did did you try a new set?
