Copy and Covert locks up at end of movie

I just got Roxio Creator 2010 for windows 7. When I run the copy and convert, it shows 100% done, but locks up and won't close down. There are no software updates, any ideas? I have to use the task manager just to shut it down. It seems to run quickly until the very end. It shows 1 task of 1 done, but locks up.

SOURCE: roxio creator has problem and will shutdown

If you haven't already, you might want to uninstall then reinstall the program. Sometimes a program will seem to install correctly when it hasn't or, become corrupt over time. If you do this and continue to experience the same issues with the program then you may need to move onto troubleshoot the issue further.

go to my computer/program files/roxio easy creator 9 suite and copy and paste the quick launch icon and place it on your desktop

Roxio 9, Roxio Creator 9 and Roxio Creator 10 are different animals. Roxio 9 is 3 years old +. It likely will not handle 64bit or Windows 7.
Roxio Creater 9 is not listed as compatible with Windows 7

I am receiving error code 0643 when I try to install Roxio Creator 2010 Pro and then program uninstalls.
  1. Disable your startup applications using MSCONFIG. This will disable any unnecessary background or system tray applications from loading.


    • Go to Start -> Run. Type "msconfig" (without quotes) then click OK.
    • Select the Startup tab.
    • Click the Disable All button.
    • Click the Apply button, then click the OK button.
    • Click the Restart button.

    To reverse this at the end of installation, go back into MSCONFIG and select Enable All and restart (that can be done once installation is complete).

  2. If you are installing from a physical disc, please try to copy the content of the disc to a folder on your hard drive then install from the hard drive. To do this:
    • Create a new folder on your Desktop.
    • Go to Start -> My Computer, then right-click on the Creator installer disc and select Explore.
    • Select ALL of the files in the installer window and copy to the folder you just created.
    • To install from the folder, double click the setup.exe file.

  3. If you are installing from downloaded files, please follow the steps below to delete the temporary files then try to reinstall again.
    • Go to Start -> Run. Type "%temp%" (without quotes) then click OK. The Temp folder will show up.
    • Go to Edit -> Select All.
    • Go to File -> Delete.
    • Reinstall your software.

Installing on a Windows Vista computer

Creator 2010 requires a minimum of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 for installation. You can either perform a Windows Update (recommended) or install Service Pack 1 for Vista here.


Installing on a Windows 7 computer

The issue might be caused by the Creator 2010 setup package running in Windows Vista compatibility mode on Windows 7. Please use the following steps to turn off Vista compatibility mode for the Creator 2010 setup package:
  1. Right-click on the setup package and choose Properties.

  2. Click on the Compatibility tab in the Properties window.

  3. In the Compatibility mode section, uncheck the box that is labeled Run the program in compatibility mode for Windows Vista.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.

  5. Re-run Creator 2010 the setup package.

My roxio creator 2010 converts tivo to dvd so slow - a 103 minute movie took 7 hours to convert and burn to disc and the picture is **** but the audio is fine. i also can't seem to trim any tivo recordings...
I like burning tivo to DVD with windows DVD maker. I use Pavtube for coverting TiVo videos . It works very well and I haven't really had any problems. Conversion speed seems fine and the videos look good. I saw Pavtube mentioned in the TiVo forums as a good way to convert for the iPad so I decided to try it. If I'm running dvd decrypter and attempt to make backups to my hollywood movies with roxio easy cd and dvd burning, are there going to be issues I should be aware of. Does that combo work most often?
My project ended on a positive note. After another few hours of downloading and trying a variety of copy programs I happened upon "Ideal" DVD copy. Voila!! I now have a working copy of "The Proposal" movie.
Unlike 1click, the trial period for this program is realistic, giving plenty of time for experimentation. I'll probably buy the product at the end of the trial if further use proves positive.
By the way, "Ideal" shrinks as well as decrypts the movie (I think) and the copy appears to be faultless. The supposition that you only need this one program may not be altogether valid because I've also got decrypter and a variety of other programs (anydvd etc.) downloaded on my PC.
Anyway. . . . worked for me! I'll keep your address/offer for future. The $19.99 option would probably work best for me. I'm kind of a novice as you might guess.

Roxio burning dvd
I think it will not. The output has a different file name. But don't save the converted file same as the source file. Or you could try experimenting with it using a short avi file then convert it to dvd.

Also are you making its output be automatically burn unto the disc? It will keep its original file.
