Try to download a code pack and install it onto Windows Media Player. Most of the time it is due to lack of codec. You can also try Leawo Blu-ray Player. With it, you don't have to download any codec pack at all, since all codec packs were already built-in.

Please help me to install the dvd decoder because media player said that they are not compatible?please

Hello,
If your are talking about the Windows Media Player, then there are several files which are incompatible with the WMP. For these formats to run on your Windows Media Player ( WMP ), you have to install a software whose name is K-Lite Codec Pack. By installing this pack, you will be able to play almost all media format files and even some rare ones.
The link is http://majorgeeks.com/K-Lite_Codec_Pack_Full_d4844.html
Thank You.

Windows media player can't play .wmv files

  • Firstly a UPS is an abbreviation for Uninterrupted Power Supply - meaning emergency backup power in the event of a mains power failure. This is not a type of PC.
  • Secondly - Windows media player does not support every type of movie format, as Microsoft Update it from time to time, some formats will still not be supported, these are known as codecs.
  • Thirdly, codecs to support your particular format can usually be downloaded and added to Windows Media Player, however i can not think of any reason .wmv files are not supported by Windows Media Player.

You could try re-downloading the latest version of Windows Media Player from one of the links provided below.
WMP 11 will support the latest codecs, but if for some reason you find yourself needing the older version, use WMP 10.

You will most likely have to remove your current version of WMP, and you can do this by using Windows Add/Remove programs.
  1. Click on the Start menu button ( bottom left corner of your screen. )
  2. Click on Control Panel.
  3. Click on Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Click on Windows Media Player in the list.
  5. Click Remove ( right hand side of the listing )

Microsoft WMP 11 is available by clicking on this link:

Microsoft WMP 10 is available by clicking on this link:
