You should know every trick in the book, not every body runs wire welding machines or even knows what one does. There are a bunch of things that will color wire, but you might not get the color off. Ferric Chloride, steel ink, liver something? I know the steel ink will come off, the ferric chloride might not, also a potent acid. Used in copper etching. And the liver ? I can't remember what it is called, but it is used to patina silver jewelry. Hope this helps.

Testimonial: "appreciate the feedback. itried the steel ink but the problem is getting it to cover every spot on wire .if it hits an uncovered spot it wont lazer. "

liver of sulphur. it will oxidize the silver into dullness. also make sure you are using sterling silver as the copper content will help the oxidizing process. Desy (jeweler)

The band links come apart

some bands have pressure pins holding them together and once the come apart wont hold again. take it to a jewelry store with a lazer welder and they should be able to drill out the old on and weld a piece of steel
