Acer al1922 monitor no signal:

When the monitor is turned on it appears to work - the "acer" name comes up and then the words "no signal". As soon as no signal comes on the sceen it goes to black and the light turns orange. The pc has a new video card installed and tests okay on other monitors, a new cable between pc and monitor has been installed also - still no success

If it does the same with other PC then you need to open it up and first thing to look for are bad caps in the power supply, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps, transistors, transformers, lamps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside, and always replace with good quality caps such as PANASONIC FM or FC series from DIGIKEY.

When turning on my monitor(AL1914) the Acer name appears then disappears and a box that reads "no signal" appears.

Not the monitor. check that both end of the cable are tight. The most likely problem is the video card in the computer it it works okay on the XP computer.

When turning on my monitor the Acer name appears then disappears and a box that reads "no signal" appears. Then the screen goes blank and the blue power button turns yellow.

This means that your monitor is not receiving a signal from your computer. The easiest way to fix this is to plug the monitor into the computer. I hope this helps and have a nice day!

You might have one of several problems.

Your monitor might require a driver for your computer/graphics card in order to show up.
Your monitor's input might be slightly damaged.
Or your graphics card might not have the proper drivers in order to display on that kind of monitor.

I would go online and make sure your drivers are up to date for your graphics card first, then inspect your monitor to make sure no pins from the cable have broken into the input, and then make sure that your monitor is compatible with/without drivers to your graphics card.

they all come with two cables. blue being vga, white being dvi cable. you only need to plug the blue into both ends (computer and into the monitor) and turn on. If it is still not working how many video cards are there on the computer? Do you have it plugged into the right spot and is it tight on both ends?

Monitor comes up shows "acer" then says no signal and goes black

This Problem is Acer(s) Monitors. Though it is a nuisance one fix That has work for many is the Unplugging after it goes back to Good (viewable) screen.
I have hooked mine up to an inexpensive Power strip to make it easier for me and just turn off at time indicated above and Viola Simple is as Simple does :)

Acer AL1916W pluged into lap top but can't get both to run.

Have you used the Fn button on your laptop and changed the video display Icon on the Blue Function keys. You need to change the display wait a few seconds for it to take affect. There are several modes try them all so you know how to use them.

The interface between the monitor and the cable might need replacement. Please check it.
