It may be that you have the forward no answer parameter set to 1 ring on ANY of the phones you have programmed to ring on those lines. Make a call to your system from your cell and see what answers....the auto attendant (you can dial another ext) or a voice mail box. If your system is equipped, we offer remote programming services.

How do I turn off the auto attendant on my Norstar M7310?

It depends. Go into feature 983, default pwd of 1020000 for 3-digit extensions. Go into AA, Table, Table 1, and change the option for the AA to N. If you're using a CCR tree, you'll have to go into Table 1 and disable the tree under Morn CCR and all the CCRs that follow.

Call display won't work as the phone system M7310 keeps picing up on the first ring. I have changed the Auto Attendant and the ccr # of rings but that doesn't help

Try this - keep the handset in the cradle and press:
"Feature 9 8 2", the system will prompt you for a password.
The default password is: "O P E R A T O R"
Scroll through the items by pressing "Next".
The "Answer Lines" should be changed to N(o) to stop the Auto Attendant from answering. You will need to wait at least 2 rings for the system to process the Caller ID info & display it on the phone.
Good Luck!

We have a Landmark/Southwestern Bell Telecom DKS 308/616 system and need to know how to access and change the auto attendant greeting.

Call your own number or press and hold #1 button and when the message starts playing press either # or * and follow the directions. It's usually #

We have a Norstar - Meridian M7310 phone system. Today for some unknown reason when an incoming call comes in, the ring is two short rings rather that the "longer" ring that we normally have. I have...

The two short rings is telling you that the call is either a transfered call (answered by someone else and transfered) or answered by an auto attendant and transfered. Watch the ringing phone when the call comes in and see if the intercom LED blinks.

CHANGE NAME ON DIRECTORY AFTER COMPANY GREETING

Hi there, Cangeletti...
Ok, so you need to change the greeting for the Auto attendant then.
First thing, these new employees have the extensions of the old employees correct, otherwise more changes that what I gave you here will not work properly, example when you hear Press 1 it went to Joe, and Mary is where Joe used to be; that will work. But it Mary is where Steve used to be, pressing one will go where Joe was and not to Mary. Understand?

Ok, for the first part- changing the greeting in the Auto Attendant via CCR tree... you have to get into the ADMIN mailbox:
-> FEATURE 9 8 3
-> Password 1020000 (this is the default password, but can be changed)
-> OTHR
-> CCR
-> ADMIN
-> TREE 1 and press OK
-> CHNG
-> Path 0
-> REC then press PLAY to listen to the greeting, and ensure that is the one that you need to change
-> REC the new message
-> remember to SAVE! otherwise all is for not.
THIS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR OTHER TREES ex 2 or 3, listen too all trees and change if required... same steps to get into the trees and prompts.

Night ring change the number of rings

Auto Attendant
Answer Lines
1 – Feature 983
2 – Log: Dial 1020000 (3-digit DNs) or 120000 (2-digit DNs)
3 – Press AA
4 – Press LINES
5 – Line number: Dial line number (001-xxx).
6 – Line:xxx Ans:No Press CHNG to AA if auto attendant will always answer theline. If a Night Service key will be used to activate auto attendant answering, leave Ans: at No.
7 – If line has been changed to Ans:AA, press * then press TABLE.
8 – If Table:1 is OK press RINGS. (Table 1 is the default greeting table. Change to a different table (1-4) if alternate answering is required on the line being programmed.)
9 – Rings:0 – Press CHNG, dial number of rings before auto attendant answers the line, or leave at 0 for immediate answering. Allow at least 2 rings if CLID is in use.
10 – Repeat for each line to be programmed.

Notes For Night Service Mode Auto Attendant Answering
If the auto attendant will only answer lines in night service mode, line answering should be set to No as per step 6 above. Using night service will cause the AA to answer lines immediately.

Panasonic 816 reduce from 4 to 1 ring before auto attendant ans.

You can voice mail to answer after one ring.
You will need a programmer to program ringing.

Need more rings

You have to change the rings from the voice mail server. If you don't know your way around the server, its best to get a local NEC tech although it is fairly simple to navigate. Depends on your skill. Typical default password for the server is NEC

Norstar M7310 auto attendant problem

As far as changing the # of rings, that may be your phone company. Feature 983 will get you in to change to number of rings. It goes as follows:
Feature 983
System coordinator mailbox # and password
OK
AA
Lines
Enter Line Number
OK
Table
Rings
CHNG
Enter the desired number of rings
If after changing the number of rings the Auto atendant does not pick up at all, You have to call your phone company and set up the second delay through them. We had the same problem here.
