I have a frigidaire that quit making ice. I noticed that there is no water in the freeze tray so I reversed the solenoids to see if I could get water to come in. It did when I pushed the water dispense switch after switching the solinoids. So the solenoid feeding the ice maker is ok. What else could cause no water to come in to the freezing tray?
The ice maker itself sounds like its not calling for water, you would need to replace ice maker, not field servicable. did you switch the solenoid? or the wire(s) leading to solenoid??? by switch the wire(s) when you depress for water the ice tray will fill with water. reason i say that is possible that the solenoid is energized, perhaps the valve post its sitting on is no good
