Phone won't transfer to next free line when a second call comes

If someone is using phone any other incoming calls or outgoing eftpos transactions won't work despite having 3 individual phone lines into system. Incoming second calls go direct to voice mail where they used to ring on second line through to another phone extension. If I press second line on handpiece red light comes up with no dial tone. I have dialed all the numbers from cell phone and they all ring so it has to be a system fault.
Any ideas?

If you are not getting a dial tone then something is holding the line off hook. Disconnect any other device you have on your lines and check to see if you get your dial tone back. If you still have no dial tone unplug each phone and check again. You may have to disconnect everything for a minute or two so the phone company will reset its equipment. Plug in your phones one at a time and check your dial tone every time you add something new.

If you add something and you loose your dial tone immediately you may have a crossed connection in the wall socket, any splitters or in the phone plug. Check to make sure all of the wires in those sockets are straight before you plug in your phone wire.

If you add your CC machine and everything is good but it fails after you run a transaction you will have to contact the supplier of your CC machine. It is not hanging up the line.

NEC DTU-8D-2 EKS. Can I program system or a phone button to grab an outgoing CO line and speed dial a number, then transfer an incoming call to that line/key?

Not likely. You are talking in a circle though.
A button to grab a Co line & SD out is no problem.
transferring the call back to the same key doesn't make any sense. Sorry.

Can't transfer calls

Call Transfer is a Class Of Service controlled function. If you can't transfer it's because your phone is in a class of service (or possibly Class Of Restriction) that disallows it. Note that transferring an incoming call to an outgoing line is frequently barred on some corporate phone systems to prevent toll fraud or abuse. Check with your phone system support person.

3Com 3102 phone dial tone but won't dial out

As long as someone hasn't been poking around in the phone system, this is a phone company issue. I have seen this many times and it has always been a carrier issue. Typically with PRI's or integrated access analog lines.

I have a panasonic hybrid phone system and would like to connect a fax machine, when I connect the fax to the jack, I dont get a dialtone but it goes to the intecom line. The same happens if I connect a...

Hello, you can solve this one of two ways. Try pushing a 9 when you get intercom line, you should get an outside line. So when you want to send a fax, just remember to push a 9, get outside dial tone then dial your number. Or, the second option would be to program that extension jack to auto select a line when going off hook. That will take a manual and some additional guidance. Okay, so thats for making outgoing calls. When it comes to incoming calls, you need to find out what extension the fax is connected to. You can do this by dialing another extension that has a display from the fax machine and see what intercom number comes up on the phones display. So once you know the extension number you can do one of two things. You can leave the fax off since it will most likely ring when any call comes in your office, and only turn it on when receiving a fax. When you answer the fax call on one of your other phones, and hear the beep beep beep, merely push transfer and dial the fax machines extension. That will transfer the incoming fax call to that extension and the fax machine provided you have it turned on. The other option is to break out the system manual(not user guide), and program the fax machines extension to only ring on the line you want it to, say your last line and leave the fax machine on and give out that specific number for faxes. But you do run the risk of your call traffic being heavy, incoming calls rolling over to that line or someone calling that number directly and getting the fax. I think I covered everything I can with the limited information on your application, so I hope that solved your problem.

go to settings
go to call settings

There is also a line 1 and line 2 facility. Make sure you are using Line 1

Hope the above is helpful.

Call forwarding for NorStar m7310

You have to know how to get into programming, and it depends on the type of telephone lines you have... if you have regular analog lines, on a out bound call transfer there is going to be line degragation. Meaning that the outgoing call is not going to be of the best quality.

Secondly, you have to see how many telephone lines you have, if you have 3 analog trunks, with a call forwarding to a cell phone, you will be using up 2 lines... 1 incoming and 1 outgoing to your cell. This leaves 1 trunk for incoming or outgoing callers.
