Radio Shack Midi Keyboard MD-4072. How to reset the sound please.

Have you ever changed the internal Lithium Battery. Try the reset here, although it is for a different model. The Keyboard was actually made by Casio and sold with the Radio Shack name on it.

REPLACING THE MEMORY BATTERY

Your keyboard uses one lithium battery to protect some types of data when it is turned off. This battery is installed at the factory,
and lasts up to 5 years. If the keyboard's memory is erased when you turn the keyboard off, take the keyboard to your local Radio Shack store to replace the lithium battery.

RESETTING THE KEYBOARD

Note: Resetting the keyboard clears all information you stored in the keyboard's memory, including the parameter settings, song
sequencer, pattern sequencer, and registration memory. Resetting the keyboard's parameter settings clears only those settings from
the keyboard's memory. To reset the keyboard, turn the power off.
Then hold down ENTER. Reset? appears. Press YES.

Install ram

The memory compartment is under the keyboard. You will need to remove the battery, then remove the keyboard screw from the bottom of the notebook. Turn the computer over and open it. Slide the four tabs at the top of the keyboard forward to unlock the keyboard. Then you can lift up the top of the keyboard and rotate it towards the screen. Release the keyboard cable from the retaining clips and detach the ZIF connectors (for the touchpad and the keyboard). Be very careful when handling the cables and connectors. If they are damaged, the parts will have to be replaced for the computer to work. Now you can remove the keyboard and see the memory compartment cover. Lift up the left side of the memory cover and then swing it forward to remove the cover.

For pictures see the Hardware and Service manual from HP: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?redirectReason=DocIndexPDF&prodSeriesId=316664&targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fbizsupport1.austin.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc00091009%2Fc00091009.pdf . The section on removing the keyboard is just before the section on replacing the memory. These are pages 5-19 through 5-24 (pages 107 - 113 of the PDF). Note: you will need Adobe Reader or a similar program to access the manual.

I hope this helps.

I want to safely remove, clean and replace all keys on the Dell 610 keyboard

HI michael so if you want to clean your keyboard so first you must take off the keyboard from you laptop .

Let's remove the keyboard. Insert a flat head screwdriver between the keyboard bezel and laptop case and carefully lift up the bezel. Remove the bezel.

Now carefully lift up the keyboard. You'll see the default memory module under the keyboard, right above the touch pad buttons. It's possible to replace the memory module without disconnecting the keyboard.

How can i get to both memory slots so i can upgrade to 2GB of Ram? Thanks

Your laptop has two memory slots. One of the memory slots (external) can be easily accessed if you remove the cover on the bottom of the laptop.

The second (internal) memory slot is located under the keyboard.

Keyboard removal procedure:
1. Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery.
2. Remove two screws securing the keyboard on the bottom of the laptop. These screws are marked with a small keyboard symbol.
3. Release 4 keyboard retention tabs located on the left side from f1, f5, f9 and delete keys.
4. Lift up the keyboard and place it upside down on the palm rest.
5. Unlock the keyboard cable connector on the motherboard.
6. Remove and replace the keyboard.

Hope this helps. Thank you for using FixYa.

Satalite m35x-s161 how to replace the keyboard?

Toshiba Satellite How to remove keyboard and upgrade memory modules. This post was written by cj2600 on April 28, 2006
Posted Under: Toshiba Satellite A20/A25 --> toshiba-satellite-a20-a25-memory.jpgRemoving and replacing memory on a Toshiba Satellite A20 or A25 notebook is not as easy ad it should be. Both memory modules are located under the keyboard. A laptop keyboard has to be replaced in order to get access to the memory modules. Before you remove the keyboard do not forget to remove the laptop battery or you can damage the laptop. Be careful when you remove the keyboard securing strip; do not bend it too much. To remove the memory module from the slot on the system board, release the latches on both sides and the memory module will pop up. It will stay at a 30 degree angle to the system board. Firmly grasp the memory module and remove it from the slot.

Installing Memory

Hi

Yes, you can replace/upgrate the memory module under the keyboard.

Before you proceed, note that Dell Inspiron 2650 uses DDR200 3.3V SODIMM modules. Also, memory module capacities supported are 128MB and 256MB with a Maximum memory of 512MB. If the current memory installed is 128MB, you need to order 2x 256MB modules to replace/upgrade both memory slots. If the installed capacity is 256MB, you just need another 256MB for the slot underneath the laptop.

Check "Removing the Keyboard" for guide removing the keyboard to access the 2nd memory slot.

Read "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer" before committing to the above procedure.

Let me know how you get on.
