It sounds like the timer is bad. Try another cycle like delicate, or normal, or heavy duty. If everything works on another cycle then it is probably your timer. If it doesn't work and you have the same problem, then it is probably an expensive fix. Best of luck

Hoover 700lb

Failure of the valve in the cold water inlet section., Remove and clean, back flush with high pressure and if there is no result you must replace. Check the valve winding to confirm if the coil /solenoid is working.

Hoover hpe 236. water not draining, stops mid cycle, lights flash

Have you checked the pump filter, and or that the pump is actually working. if it spins o/k with no water in, then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump o/k, then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Hope this is of some help to you.

HOOVER 510 PREMIER WASHING MACHINE ABOVE THE BELT SHAFT THERE IS A PLASTIC COG WHEN THE WASHING MACHINE IS ON WASH CYCLE IT SPINS FINE ONE WAY THEN ON THE REVERSE SPIN THER IS THIS ORANGE LEVER THAT MAKES...

I imagine you've bought a new machine by now? The plastic gearcog is the clutch housing. The arm that clicks is part of the brake lever. On these models, the brake lever is supposed to hold the clutch in place during the wash cycle so that it slips in both directions to get a forward and reverse wash. On spin, the lever moves away releasing the clutch and gearbox brake and allowing the bowl and agitator to spin together. The brake lever wears and allows the gearbox to slip during the wash cycle. When this happens, the clutch housing will "ratchet" past the brake lever tongue. this causes the "clicking" noise in 1 direction.

My washer is making a clicking sound

That is the motor that is going bad. it is a loud click on and off. They have a fix kit for that it takes about 30 min to install " I have done about 30 of them.I do not think they are to pricey.

My old Hoover top loader Washer is noisy & doesn't spin out properly - how can I fix it?

Sounds like the switch which cuts the machine off when the load is unbalanced. My guess is that: This switch is being triggered too easily The springs holding the bowl up are either stretched or one is broken; The machine may not be level.
