So, does it always say 'No Signal' or does it come up when you get it connected? If they are off when you are connecting them, that sounds okay; you'd get a signal when you turned the DVD player on (and told the TV to pay attention there.)

You might need to get an upconverting DVD or SVHS machine (since those are not normally HD) to get the TV to tolerate the signal, but the TV menus might let you activate that too. Why not look up the HD Plasma TV manual online according to the model number? If it turns out to be a monitor rather than a TV; of course, that is why it would not display those signals...you would need a separate tuner or signal selector box for that.

What's that bumpersticker abbreviation... ROFLMAORTFMYGDSOB? Good luck checking those out, since you get to decide which box renders the SD signal into HD....

Hello
The T Con board of your LG that generates high voltage to plasma screen is fauty. It is somewhat costly board, and can be repalce as card basis. As the set is new, and warranty will be there with it, just contact the authorised service center and get it repalced by them. They have the liability to do that. If you want to repair it by yourself, tou have to spend an amount from your pocket. OK.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

Connecting a DVD/VCR combo to LCD TV

The best suggestion I would advise is to buy a shielded scart connector & connect that from your DVD combi to either AV1 OR AV2. It sounds as if you are picking up RF interference from your current connections, this can sometimes happen if the cables do not have adequate shielding.

Lg plasma

there are 2 types of flicker, one is the lamps that drive the display and the second is the sync signal of the video.
I assume the video sync is the flicker you see,
I would try connecting a different way to make sure it is not the tv,
connect using the aux /rca connectors to cable box.
and or connect using the cable direct bypassing the cable box.
I have seen several complaints about the hdmi cable signal being incorrect in some way,
this is the same issue that the svideo connector had in its early adoption signal was too hot or too low.
another thing to watch out for is the low light sensor on the front of tv if it gets an incorrect reading it can flicker the back light though it should be slow in doing so.
some times the flicker you see is not flicker but ac running through the sides of the picture from an ungrounded cable source.
how does it perform if you play a dvd player , with and without the cable box connected.

Connection for tv cable to hitachi 42" plasma Tv

there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal.
the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment.
good luck
