I purchased Office a few months ago, thought I had activated it and cannot find my key now, as it is asking to be activated (or purchased again!). I checked all my emails, and don't see the confirmation. I would have saved it
Sorry, I forgot to mention it was an on-line purchase, I am back tracking the credit card so I can see exactly when I did this.Sorry, I forgot to mention it was an on-line purchase, I am back tracking the credit card so I can see exactly when I did this.

It will continue to ask for this until you insert your activation code or purchase the full version of it. Most computers come with a trial that will only last a few weeks.
If you have purchased it, the activation code will be on the inside of the packaging, typically on the left side.
If you have not purchased it, you can go to www.microsoft.com/office and purchase it, they will email you the key.
Because of the tough economic climate, Microsoft is finally installing fully activated MS Office products on some computers cooperating with some brands of laptops to entice buyers. This has only happened in the last 2 months.
For your situation you really only have 2 viable choices. 1. Purchase the key from Microsoft or, 2.You can download OpenOffice.org's free Office Suite. It is fully compatible with all MS Office documents and has programs equivalent to MS Word and Excel. Documents in OpenOffice can also be read by people with fully acitvated versions of MS Office.
There is one other option that I've seen but might not fit your "comfort" level. In my area, people who cannot afford to purchase an MS Office key at full price often post a request ad on the local Craigslist asking for someone to sell them a key from a retail purchase MS Office where 3 computers can be activated but the original purchaser only used one of the activations. Be sure that if you do this, it is the exact version as your trial version, or use the other persons disc to do an upgrade as their key will be tied to their disc in many cases.
Usually if you open the d: (depending on what drive your using)
There will be a document called key.doc or key.txt that you can open and get the product key back.
