My 12 cup cuisinart coffee maker keeps shutting off even while it's still brewing. It's 4 yrs old and for the past 6 months it's been shutting off at various times.
I tried a solution someone posted on this site back in Dec and it worked, give it a try: "I called the company about the "shutting off after a brewing cycle" problem and they had me turn the dial to "auto off" and set the time to two hours. You do this by holding down the "hour" button until it blinks, and then press it again until you get the desired hours that the warming plate will be on. Hope this helps."
This does not answer the question. The problem is not with the heating plate shutting off after the pot has brewed, but the brew shutting off half way through its cycle.

I have the same pot except for the 10 cup model, and it has been doing the same thing. I realized that I have never changed the charcoal filter inside, and I believe that may have been the problem. I removed the filter, ran vinegar through the pot several times as well as cleaned some nasty looking scum out of the water reservoir. I ran 3 pots of water after that. The problem has not recurred so far. I think it may be fixed although time will tell for certain.
Mine is doing the exact same thing but its been doing it since almost new, I took everything apart and am at a loss on what it can be. Seems beating it and cursing a lot tends to help from time to time, just hopping the next step is not it going trough the window.
As noted above there is an "Auto Off" programing capability with this machine that may be the culprit if everything else is working fine. Check the user manual to reset it or disable the feature if it presents a problem.
