How to remove te two water lines from the filter housing

Our Kenmore side by side refrigerator model # 59562990 has a water leak around the water filter housing fitting (in port). How do I remove the two tubes and replace the seals ("O" rings???) Do I need to replace the entire housing and tubes? Where can I obtain a schematic of such filter assembly?Thank you.

Kenmore refrigerator water filter bypass

That is a tough one. You can remove the water hoses from the housing but it won't be easy. Unless the housing itself is broken I don't think I would recommend bypassing it. Now if you really do want to go this route, here's how I would do it.
1) Turn off the supply
2) Carefully remove both lines from housing
3) Using the proper fittings, splice enough line so that you can position the new inline filter at the rear of the unit.
4) Attach the proper quick connect fittings to the new lines.
5) Install the new inline filter .(You may wish to secure the new assembly to the back of the unit)
6) Turn supply back on and check for leaks
As far as which filter, there are many to choose from. I would just get an inexpensive, inline filter made for ice makers. just be sure you get the correct quick connect ends for your new installation.
You can also purchase a complete kit which comes with mounting hardware, a filter and everything you need. This won't be inline though. It will be a separate housing which you will just mount remotely.
Good Luck!

Kenmore Refrigerator 59562990 icemaker worked then stopped

Good day,
Could be air, but if 48 hours passes without ice, it's not the problem.
To trouble shoot the ice maker, it is best to follow a step by step testing procedure. Ignore any step that does not apply.

First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
Three possibilities.
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.

Leak at filter

Nope. You can't bypass the tube style filter... it's the housing that cracked. That has to be removed and replaced. Sorry to give ya bad news, Mariner.

My ice and water dispenser is leaking

I am not an expert on refrigerators, but generally you hook a 1/4" (copper or plastic) line to a solenoid valve to the back of your refrigerator, which you then hooks up to a filter, which then ties into an existing compression fitting, or saddle tap on a cold water line (usually on the kitchen sink). Some refrigerators have a place for a filter to fit which runs to the cold water, and not an exposed rear solenoid.

Water leaking

I guess it was water from drain lines, or leak from water lines.
