i am having this same problem.... found this bit of info, hope it helps.
The most common reason for the Wii not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:
store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr
This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Wii including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Wii going again!

If it's happening with multiple discs you can try to clean the laser with a disc cleaner, but if it keeps happening I would just get the system modded. You can load games straight from a hard drive. The best place to get your wii modded is www.wiihdmods.com
Maby the games is scratched. If that is not why It is something in the wii that is wrong. It could could bee the lens. Try opening it up and see if something is broken. If you don't know what your doing call a tech support organization.
I had the same problem that you have with happy feet. You'll want to take it to play n trade and they clean it. It should solve the problem. The other is broken. IS the tape loking around the cd broken or cut in any way, that would cause it to load slowly and cause it to load really slow.
Wii can not tell you, but perhaps Nintendo can. I would call their
customer service at 1-800-255-3700. Make sure you write down the ERROR
code # (if the Wii gave one).
I had the same problem. No new games would play but the old games played fine. I clicked on the spinning disc icon (where the game should come up) and it prompted me to do an update. I accepted. Once the update was complete (took about a minute or 2) the new games worked fine.
