My nokia 5220 won't switch on

Check if the ignition switch electrical part is coming apart or defective.

Hi, to reset/format your phone try to dial *#7780#. or try to follow these steps to reset/format your nokia:
1. Switch off your phone.
2. Press and hold three keys: the green dial key, star key (*), and number 3 key on the keypad and then press the power on/off to switch on the phone.

(remember not to let go the three keys until a formatting word show on the screen)

the phone needs to be reflashed, firsly try using nokia software updater

It sounds like you overloaded the CPU which forced it to reboot. Try removing the battery unit from behind, leaving it for 5 minutes, then reinserting the battery unit and switching the phone on. Give it a minute to fully load, then try opening your contacts and messages. If there still seems to be problems, services is where you should go to and have it checked.
