You don't want minimum temperatures if food is getting frozen. The less the temperature is, the colder it will be. If food is getting frozen, increase the temperature. Usually there is a dial in refrigerators, for example, with the numbers 1-7, 1 will be coldest and 7 will be warmest.

Our 10 year old samsung rfg298aapn refrigerator freezer started not fully freezing all the time. mainly things like ice cream/popsicles getting soft.

I have never owned a fridge freezer so have no experience to draw on apart from a sketchy knowledge of the principles involved.

I just wanted to mention that food remaining frozen at -2 C or even -6 C doesn't mean the food will remain safe to eat indefinitely, in fact the safe life of food at those temperatures will be about the same as in the freezer compartment of the old fashioned fridge - a matter of a few weeks to a couple of months.

The safe and almost indefinite storage of freezer food requires temperature of -25/-27 C

I suggest you obtain service for your fridge freezer...

Commercial freezer control panel is blinking HA ..it still seems to be freezing fine. But the thing keeps blinking and I can't tell the temp. Is it ok? What can I do?

This freezer is defected. There must be some small crack in the freezer case. It is not safe to have a freezer that is not maintaining temperature. I would contact your appliance dealer, and ask for compensation for the damage caused to your frozen food items. Never take chances with your frozen food. A <a href="https://www.ancasterfoodequipment.com/commercial-freezers/">freezer</a> that is not maintaining the correct temperature can cause over-freezing and is not safe for the food.

Check the cold control thermostat setting maybe you set it to max. put both controls on middle of whatever numbers you have on them and if its already on middle or at minimum setting still it freezing everything you need to replace to Cold Controller Thermostat

My freezer has a different code number;ZFT710FW.I put quite a lot of food into the freezer yesterday and the alarm now keeps sounding,I have put the temperature up but the red light is still flashing...

Red Alarm Indicator Light
Under normal operating conditions, the internal temperature of the freezer will ensure the long-term conservation of the stored food. When such temperature rises above a certain level (-12 °C), the appliance will trigger an acoustic and light alarm. The light alarm is a blink red light (Red Alarm Indicator Light), while the acoustic alarm is an intermittent sound.
You can stop the acoustic alarm by pressing the Acoustic Signal Stop Switch once.

When switching on the freezer for the first time, the Red Alarm Indicator Light will blink until the internal temperature has reached a level required for the safe conservation of frozen food.

Fast Freeze function
If more than 3-4 kg of food is to be frozen:
1. Press the Fast Freeze Switch for 2-3 seconds to activate the fast-freeze function 6-24 hours before placing the fresh food in the freezer, the Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator Light will illuminate. The compressor will now run continuously, to ensure that the fresh food is frozen as quickly as possible.
2. It is possible to deactivate the function at any time by pressing the Fast Freeze Switch for 2-3 seconds.
3. Place the foods in the freezing compartments (indicated with graphics).
4. Once the food is completely frozen (it may take up to 24 hours) you can manually switch off the fastfreeze function by pressing the Fast Freeze Switch for 2- 3 seconds and the Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator light will also go out.
5. Move frozen food from the freezing compartments into the other compartments (storing compartments) to make room for another freezing.

If the Fast Freeze Switch is accidentally left on, the fast-freeze function will be automatically switched off 48 hours later. The Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator light will also go out.

I believe that you all understand. If you intend to freeze larger amount of food then certainly a few hours before some shopping switch on the fast freeze function.

Idesit BAAN134 PSUK fridge keeps freezing food . The fridge part of my tower f/f keeps freezing food even though I have turned the dial down to the minimum the temperature regularly drops to below...

If it is an electronic thermostat it could be that the engineer has changed the board but not the sensor which reads the temp. If it is a mechanical thermostat it may be hes fitted the wrong type.It could also be that the system is short of refrigerant and the actual refrigerant charge is not getting all the way to the thermoststs sensor to switch it off, the back wall of the fridge should be frosted at least 3/4 of the way down and not just forming in a small part of the fridge.

Ffa70 hotpoint fridge freezer

Adjust the temperature control for the freezer to a normal setting. Fast freeze is only for when new products are put in that need to be frozen. This locks the system into a continuous run mode and could be responsible for the freezing condition in the refrigerator section. Check the temperatures with a thermometer as the sensor for the freezer temperature could be bad causing the light to come on.

Freezer not freezing food even at highest setting

If the unit is running continuously and not maintaining the temperature cold enough the system may have a leak. If it is NOT running continuously the problem could be in the temperature control.

GE Frigerator has intermittant Freezing

It sounds like the defrost heater is burned out. Remove the inside back cover in the freezer to see if the coils are frozen up. If so, more than likely your defrost heater has bit the dust. It is located at the bottom of the inside coil of the freezer.

Also, you could be have a clogged condensor coil. It is located on the out side back of the Fridge. You need to remove the panel from the lower part of the fridge and do a thorugh cleaning.
