I have a Geneve watch and need to change the battery. The case seems to have no way of opening it and seems to be one piece and I took it to the jewelers and they can't replace the battery. Is there any way to change the battery?

Of course, there is the way to change the battery, but for this you have to visit your closest watch repair shop. I do mean WATCH REPAIRS, not the jewellers. Decent watchmaker will definitely open your watch and will replace the battery. Your watch's case appears to be a monoblock. That means you'll need to lift the crystal first, pull the stem second and just then you'll be able to extract watch's movement for replacing battery. Do not forget: jewellers and watchmakers are under one roof, but their trades are completely different. No jeweller can do watchmakers job and vice versa. Rate me, plz.

I have a geneve quartz 14k gold mans watch dont no how to take apart to put battery in.

mcdevito75 here, Battery usually lasts 1 year and longer, even if you did change the battery yourself now, you"d forget for a year or even longer next time battery needeed to be changed, I know I did. Add to this you can easily destroy your watch with in-correct handleing. BEST BET, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this battery change $10--$15.00 and peace of mind.

Need to replace battery in my Colibri pendant watch. Can't figure out how to open case to change it.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
  • Place the tip of your pocket knife in the slot on the back of the watch. Pry the back off.

  • Take your tweezers and grasp the metal piece that is hiding the battery.

  • Once that metal piece is out the battery should come out too.

  • Put the new battery in and cover it with the metal piece.

  • Put the back of the watch back on and snap it into place.

  • Best wishes. Jewel

    Thank you for contacting FixYa.
First of all, unless it is stamped or it is in the manual, I cant tell you what size battery, nor can a watchmaker unless they take measurements of the watch area.
You have a nice watch. My BEST advice is to take to an authorized Geneve watch dealer or to send direct to them (contact them first).

Please tell me is is there a rolex quartz geneve 59312

mcdevito75 here, I can remember a good, good while ago,--------------Rolex does not make a quartz watch. ------------ Geneve is a good watch though. Chances are your watch is just a Geneve and not a Rolex Geneve or just plain Rolex.

    Casio says open

The open code is saying that your case isn't closed properly. Without seeing it, it's hard to tell if you opened/closed the case correctly. If you believe it is closed properly, look in your user manual and see if there is a master reset button and try that. Did you change the battery yourself or did you have a jeweler do it?

Can't open Geneve OGW154 gold wrist watch to replace the battery

You are right, this type of watch can be opened by lifting crystal and extruding the stem. As for lifting the crystal you need a specialized tool, there is no other way then to go and find your nearest watchmakers shop. If you will try to lift the crystal using knife or any other unspecified tool, you will damage the crystal. Even if you will be lucky enough to get it out without any damage, you will not be able to fit it back, because the watch crystal setting tool reduces the crystal diameter for easy fitting.
Best solution for you is to see the watchmaker and ask for help.
Do not forget to rate, please.
