Michael, that sounds like a great solution but I can't physically move the stove. It's a gas model, Whirlpool Gold,Model IMK 2333648. I tried turning off the range switches on the main electric panel for the condo, but that did nothing to remove the display.

  • Anonymous Mar 19, 2010

The model # is IMK2333648; Serial # YGW395LEG Q3. I may have these reversed (ie serial # first). It's a 30" slide-in Gas range made by Whirlpool, installed (new) in 2001

Thanks to you, Michael, the problem is fixed!

On range models without a keypad push button for Oven Control Lockout, the feature can be turned on or off by pressing and holding the Start keypad push button for 3 seconds.

To Turn the Control Lockout Feature On or Off:

  1. Make sure the oven and timer are off.
  2. Press and hold the Start keypad for 3 seconds.
  3. A tone will sound and “LOC” will be displayed.
  4. Repeat to unlock. Only the Clock, Oven Light and Timer keypads will function with the control locked.
Models affected:
RF114, RF212, WFE301, WFE361, YRF115, YWFE301, YWFE361, TES325, TES326, IVE323, IVP338, IVE823, IVP858, TEP340, TGS325, TGS326

You can also try unplugging the oven for an hour if the above doesn't work. If this doesn't work, then you may need to replace the sensor for the door. Let me know how this works out for you.

Whirlpool loc

From a google search the following is copied:

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

How do you unlock a kenmore elite cooktop?

You can do this by:
Check the oven display to see whether the screen says "LOC." When "LOC" is displayed, the oven lock is activated and the door cannot be opened. You need to make sure it is locked so you do not mistakenly lock the door.

  • 2 Press and hold the "Stop" button on the oven control panel until "LOC" disappears from the display. Some oven models have a button marked "Oven Lock," which should be used instead of the "Stop" button.
  • Lock the oven again by pressing and holding the "Stop" or "Oven Lock" button until "LOC" appears in the display

    Hello kmgtsg,
    Welcome

You said, The door on my frigidaire stove model # FEF389WJCC locked and we are unable to get it open. We weren't self cleaning the oven so I'm not sure what happened. Any suggestions how to fix it? We did try turning the breaker off and that didn't help.

Did you leave the breaker off for 5 minutes or just flicked it off and on?

It may be a faulty door Latch
The door latch consist of a micro switch and solenoid. Once the door is closed and the latch handle.

But first try to deactivate the door lock

    Oven Lockout
To activate the Oven Lockout feature:
    1. Press and hold for 3 seconds
    2. After 3 seconds a beep will sound, LOC will appear & "DOOR
LOCKED" will flash in the display. Once the oven door is locked
the "DOOR LOCKED" indicator will stop flashing.
    To reactivate normal oven operation:
    1. Press and hold for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will
clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven
    door has completely unlocked
    2. The oven is again fully operational.

Let me know if these procedures work for you!!

LOC for oven door is unable to unloc

Put the oven in Self Clean mode for 3 minutes and then cancel.. if if that will release the relay that controls the lock. If that doesn't work, Unplug the oven for 10 mintues, then plug it back in holding the CLEAR button down. If neither of those work you will need to contact a service repair man.

    Missing manuel Code showing - F 2 -

    hi,
    F2
Oven over temp - exceeded 590F with door in unlocked position or 990F with door locked - If actual temp condition occurred, look for welded relay contacts or high resistance connection or any cause in the oven temperature sensor circuit

    F2
Note: Also see fan thermal switches - Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
    · Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
    · Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
    · Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem.

    · Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
    · Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
    · Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.

LOC for oven door is unable to unloc

If wiring to door lock motor are ok then the motor may need to be replaced. Need to check the resistance of the motor with a meter. If it checks open then the motor is bad.
