Citizen house tv that has a 'lock' logo on screen

This tv is a citizen 'virtual flatscreen' 24"
came with no remote, bought remote, went to program tv to remote, and now there is a
RED LOCK symbol on the bottom left side, and tv wont respond!
HELP!

    I was attempting to program my universal remote to my Citizen television, and in the process the television screen turned blue and a little red lock showed up in the bottom left corner. I followed the advice given to lori08 but nothing has changed and my tv still wont respond.

    The word "debug" is on the left side of my flatscreen tv. How do I remove it?

The TV has been 'Locked'. To unlock it press the DISP button for 4 seconds. Since you have a universal remote and there is no way to determine which button is the DISP button try holding each button on the universal remote for 4 seconds until, hopefully, you find the correct one.

    Wow!!All I can say is thank you so much.My T.V was locked over a year ago by my nephews and tonight I decided just to google my problem and Hey presto this link came up with the solution.

Check these codes. 035,024,071,083. If you cant synchronize these codes, try some other setup codes to Citizen brand TVs. If you wish to get more codes, check this link. There is setup code list to different other brands of remote controls. Never stick on Sony brand remote itself. Only mind the brand name to your TV; not the remote control.

here are some tv codes that you may find for your citizen tv model.the list are 002, 112, 319, 402, 407, 502, 512, 701, 805, 906. aside from those code click this universal remote control which have tv codes it might have compatible to your unit.make sure the remote control was properly set up so that the tv unit must recognized the codes. good luck i hope it will help you.

Yes , it will work but make sure you get a remote with the capability to control a Citizen TV.

The codes are different for each universal remote for example:

TV Citizen 0060, 0039, 0280, 0030, 0056, 0046, 0092, 0186 may work for one brand of remote but not all. check online for a specific brand, see if it controls a citizen tv, then program in the codes as per the owner's manual and it should work.

Hell, depending on the brand and model of your universal remote, there are two procedures to program it to work with your citizen TV, first the direct code procedure(list of codes included in the owners manual) or the code scan procedure consisting of pressing certain keys on your remote untill the code that programs your citizen TV is obtained. I suggest going into the website provided by the manufacturer of your remote to obtain both procedures.
