I had to install your 6 channel 5.1 3d oci sound card as the sound card I had which was built into the motherboard of my Dell Desktop became corrupted. The sound card works great thru my speakers now. I will start working from home and I will be using VOIP technology and will have to use my headset and microphone. I have a logitech headset and microphone that has two male jacks, one for headset and one for mic. My question is where exactly to I plug thes two inputs on the sound card and can I also have the line for my speakers plugged in. I dont want to have to keep plugging and unplugging the headset and mic jacks and replugging the speaker jacks to switch off..my thinking is if I can keep both working at the same time I will just turn my speakers off.. Please help if you can?

You need to post your model number. Sounds like you need to replace the display card. If it doesn't have a display card but has the video built into the motherboard then that is a problem. Sometimes the motherboard will have a slot to plug in a display card.
On a desktop it's easy to replace the sound card. Remove the power cord, open the case then purchase a PCI Sound card that will fit into one of the PCI Slots. You present sound card might be what is called an on board sound card (which is built into the motherboard). You won't touch the onboard sound card, you will simply add a pci sound card.
Has she discussed an incentives program with it? To fix the problem, determine the soundcard (or motherboard whose built-in sound) and install relevant drivers for your OS (e.g. Fedora 11, Ubuntu, Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.6) and appropriate sound cables (e.g. some headphones, a 6.1 surround setup....)

if the back of the computer has 3 jacks colored either red, blue, pink, or green, then it has a built in sound card.if not, then it requires a sound card. You can purchase a usb sound card if you are not comfortable installing a sound card inside a pc.
Make sure the speakers are connected to the correct jack (Speaker out Green, Mic In Pink)
Make sure speakers are plugged in and turned on.
If you have integrated audio built in to the motherboard, make sure Audio is enabled in the BIOS. If you have a soundblaster or other 3rd party Audio card installed in the motherboard expansion slot, then make sure integrated audio is OFF in the BIOS.
Download and reinstall sound card drivers from support.dell.com
Your motherboard has
6 CHANNEL ONBOARD AUDIO - Experience high-quality 6-channel 3D surround audio with the optional C-Media CMI8738 audio controller. The driver can be downloaded here...
Is the video card built into the motherboard? If not you can try replacing just the video card to see if that works. Otherwise I am afraid you may have to replace the motherboard.
