Reads OH but still cold

We have a Sundance spa that keeps shutting down. I disconnected the power to reset but when I turned back on,it was flashing OH and the temperature reading quickly rose to 108 even though the tub is still cold. Any suggestions?

You either have a bad temperature sensor (check the wires for damage) or a bad circuit board. I would recommend replacing the temp sensor first. If that doesn't work, pull the board and take it and have it tested.

Always Replace Temp Sensor and Hi Limit Sensor at the same time. Feel your heater after reset to verify that it is not actually overheating. Are you getting a flow error code at all ? Check for proper flow to and from your heater. Per Maryland Hot Tub Repair. http://www.maryland-hottub-pool-spa-repair.com/ or blog http://marylandhottubrepair.blogspot.com/ Contact:

SOURCE: Reads OH but still cold

yes although you probably have this fixed by now. Sounds like your sensors are bad, your filter is dirty(so there is not enough water flow) or one or both of your gate valves might be closed. My best guess is the sensor(s) is bad.

OH Code how to correct so Spa runs?

OH Code is Overheat, so all the things you tried are not relevant. Low flow is normally the reason, too much heat build up in the heat exchanger so it cuts out.

So, the next time your spa throws you a OH, OHH or some other "overheat" error code, you know what to do. Clean or replace the spa filter, open all the jets and turn the pump on high. If you still have problems, check over your temp sensor and high limit circuits for wire, plug or sensor problems.

I have a Sundance 850 spa that when you switch it on at mains power , runs for 5-10 sec then shuts off. Have message - - - - that comes on display panel

Had a similar problem; the heater was blown. You might want to try disconnecting heater wires (with breaker to spa OFF).

Then see if spa pumps work after turning power on.

I got an after market heater that works great; VERY hard to install while spa is full...but I did it anyway. Good luck.

OH message showing on sundance spa sentry help!!!

If you are seeing OH and FLO codes, you need to shut it down at the circuit breaker, until it can be serviced. It likely needs a new circulation pump and the flow or pressure switch may be failing to shut down the heater causing the boiling

My hot tub had a OH where the temp usually is, then went blank and i wasnt able to reset it. i just replaced the cord and resiliconed around the temp readout

This is probally your temp sensor. Where it is on your system is hard to say. If you have a book on the system it will be in there.

Over heating

Try turning the power off and back on again.

If this doesn't solve the problem you have further issues.

QCA Opal hot tub display reading OH.

The tub experienced an overheat situation. This may be due to leaving the t stat turned all the way up and not monitoring or the hi-limit sensor is defective. The hi-limit sensor will shut down the heating cicuit if temp gets above 105 D optimally.the fact that the heater light is on is a good sign that things are working at this point.Whether or not a suitable temp(100-103 D) will be arrived at is to be seen. If spa heat kicks off before set temp is reached then replace hi-limit sensor.
