philips tv's test them selves when turned on if something is wrong it shuts down you need a tech to determine your problem more than likely it is you power supply
First red light normal
Now select channel or other source from remote with full batteries or pushing buttons left down side of TV. Red light is only stand-by
Hi i have a pilips 42" plasma tv (42PF5320/79) i can hear clicking the green light is on and the tv will go into stand by if i press the power button and the red light also comes on .I have turned it on and off and it works now nothing just the light on the front as if its working looking at the back through the slots two green lights come on then the tv clicks and they turn off,thanks
After you remove the back cover inspect the power supply board for swollen or bulging capacitors.Pull and check any capacitors that you suspect to be swollen.Next, look for a sticker in the upper right hand side of the TV set.Use the values you find on the sticker to calibrate the voltages on the power supply board.
