If your Kenmore gas range door is locked and cannot be opened, try the following steps:
Check the control panel for any error messages or fault codes. If there are any, try to clear them by unplugging the range for a few minutes and plugging it back in.
Check if the oven is in self-cleaning mode. If it is, the door will automatically lock and will not open until the self-cleaning cycle is complete. Wait for the cycle to finish and the oven to cool down before attempting to open the door.
Try resetting the door latch. Turn off the power to the range for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Press and hold the "Clear/Off" button for three seconds. This should reset the door latch and allow you to open the door.
If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the door latch or locking mechanism is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. In this case, it's best to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.
In some Kenmore ranges, they wired a thermal fuse in series with the temperature sensor. And sometimes during a self-clean cycle, the fuse will open up. And this makes the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) think that the oven is extremely hot, so it locks the door and turns on the cooling fan. To fix the problem, you have to locate and replace the thermal fuse.
Note: In some other ranges, if the temperature sensor goes bad (opens up), you will get the same result. You can test the temp sensor with an ohmmeter. At room temperature, the resistance should be around 1100 ohms. If it's FAR from that, then you have a bad temp sensor.

Your problem may be the fuse or one of three contact switches.
At times you can not easily remove the fuse unless you cut away some of the plastic housing in front of it. I have done this.

Try just unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes. That will reset the clock and hopefully fix the problem. If not you probably need to replace the clock.
