I know this sounds silly but, check the level of the dishwasher, if the door does not shut exactly right with it level my lights wont work, I can move it slightly to the side and forward (leveling it up) and bingo I have power and lights.

No power when I turn my breakers on for my 1081 pool pump

MichaelUnwire the motor and turn the breaker on.
  • Check to make sure you have power coming out of the breaker.
  • If the breaker seems to be operating normally check the voltage at the motor when the breaker is on.
  • If there is voltage going to the motor then there is going to be a problem with the motor.

Is it the correct voltage going to the motor? If perhaps this is a 120v motor and you have just sent 230v to it you have damaged the motor.

Not sure other than that starting point.

Breakers seem fine, dryer won,t start and light is not lit. ?

There is probably a fuse on the main line somewhere that may have blown. Mostly not resettable but you have to replace. Try following the main wire from where it comes in up to the circuit board and you should see it. Also just to make sure the breaker is good check with a volt meter and make sure you have power coming into the dryer(on an electric two wires would have to be live on gas only one)

Timer doesn't come on after being set. Operates landscape lights

Check your circuit breaker that feeds the timer circuit in your main electric panel. It may have tripped. Sometimes when a breaker trips it's hard to tell visually, so turn the breaker off, then back on.
Also, the circuit that feeds the timer may be on the load side of a GFCI receptacle. Look for one that has tripped. Sometimes they are found in obscure places.

I have an emerson tv and it will not power on at all. The little light wont even come on.

Solution 1 was just step 1. If the outlet gets power and the fuse or circuit breaker is ok, then U have a bad tv. That seems to be the most common problems with lcd's when they go bad. They either give the blinking light and not coming on, or they go completely dead. Most common causes are a bad power supply or a bad board/PCB/Circuit board.

Dryer has no power

Have you manually reset your breaker? Sometimes breakers can seem fine but they actually aren't. Physically turn the breaker off and then back on. If this doesn't work, you will need to find out if your particular brand and model has a fuse that needs to be replaced.

Refridge stopped working after a power surge

First, check to see if the light comes on or if there is any fan, motor, or other sound coming from the appliance? If so, the refrigerator isn't really completely stopped--go to the specific problem you are having. If not, try adjusting the thermostat to a colder setting. If that doesn't work, read on.

Second, check to see if there is power getting to the refrigerator. To do that, plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet the refrigerator is plugged into. If there's no power, check the fuses or circuit breakers. If the fuses or breakers aren't the problem, contact a qualified electrician to restore power to the outlet.

If there is power to the appliance but it still seems to be stopped, there may be a problem in one or more of these:

  • Wiring

  • Thermostat

  • Defrost timer

  • Compressor

  • Overload and/or relay

Won't start

you can also check you breaker, sometimes only one side of a 220v breaker will trip and the machine will still seem to have power but it does not have the full 220v. worth a try, turn your breaker off and then back on.
