Kenmore Coffee Maker

We have had this for only 2 months. It stopped brewing. It now shuts itself off when we push the brew button. Tried cleaning filter, etc. , but no luck. The lid doe not stay shut and pops open quite often. This was not a inexpensive coffee maker and we are very disappointed.

had the same problem with the kenmore coffee maker. Sears recalled them all without a date for replacement. The problem is when you buy a complete set of counter top applicances and the coffee pot goes bad and now sears won't replace and don't have a date when a replacement will be released. I told myself years ago to never buy kenmore but didn't follow my own advice. Don''t buy Kenmore, you will be sorry if you do.

If it's only 2 months old, I would suggest taking it back to Sears and getting it replaced under warranty.

I fill the Brew and Go with water (ground coffee is in, etc), push start button and then is shuts itself off after about 20 seconds (it makes the gurgling sound like it does at the end of a normal,...

It sounds like the valve [ball?] at the bottom of your reservoir is sticking. That will prevent good water flow into the heating chamber. Hence, the thermostat trips and shuts off the brew element. Try running undiluted vinegar [without coffee in the basket] to see if this cleans the valve. Also try turning the maker upside down over the sink when the cycle stops, to "backwash" the valve with the vinegar. You may have to repeat this several times.

Coffee pot turns stops brewing in the middle of the cycle

If this is not an electrical problem, try the following:

Try running a cup of WHITE vinegar (of course without the coffee), this will clear out anything on the path.

Once you do this, run 5 cups of plain water (again without coffee) twice to clear out any vinegar flavor from the path.

Coffee maker shuts off too soon after brewing.

Hello FloydBob, The Cuisinart DCC-1200 has the ability to program the auto-off function that keeps your coffee warmer plate on after brewing is complete.

The unit lets you select the time increments from zero up to 4 hours.

See page 6 of the attached manual for the full instructions for reprogramming the coffee maker.

To program the Variable Auto Off:
    1. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to the “Auto Off”
position. Press and hold the “Hour” button
for 2 seconds. The clock display will start
    blinking.
    2. Program the coffeemaker to shut off from
zero to four hours after brew cycle is
finished by using the “Hour” and “Minute”
    push-buttons.

I figured you might also like to have a complete instruction/owners manual so you can have access for any other questions you might have about your coffee maker, in the future.

Cuisinart DCC2000 quits brewing after 1or 2 cups

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.

I have the same problem with the exact same coffee maker I have tried pushing the 1-4 cups button. That worked for a couple weeks, now it is back to only brewing half the water in reservoir whether I push the 1-4 button or not. It is very annoying.

Coffee pot turns stops brewing in the middle of the cycle

Yup thats the Ticket - EASY FIX -
you have to clean the insides too people... lol.. The best way to do it is to buy citric acid crystals available from your local pharmacy. who knew huh? a couple of tablespoons in distilled water. Brew half the pot and let it sit for 30 min the brew the rest of the pot. Notice the color of your water after your done brewing. probably green from copper.. I could go into much more detail but thats the short answer... brew another pot or two of just plane ole water and bang your good go.. You should do this every month with any coffee pot for better tasting coffee..
