Usually the holes are deeper than they appear in the side walls. Lift the shelves just a hair and then push them left...the right side should now be outside the hole and able to be moved upward until left side clears.
YOU WILL most likely need a new thermostat for the unit. What evere tripped the breaker apparently welded the contacts on the thermostat. take the model number and the serial number and the thermostat you have here's the part and the model number for you
