Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. I have a 50 inch Sony Wega and the TV is not coming on,the TV flashes green for about 45 seconds and then flashes red. The lamp light is not lit up, and the TV sounds like it wants to come on but it does...

ok then, it sounds like it is trying to strike the lamp on some of these Sony projections it will keep trying to strike the lamp even though the bulb is no good. The lamp error detection may not be working correctly, there is a detector loop around the ballast and if it is not positioned correctly it cannot correctly detect a bad lamp. Try removing the lamp and see if it is physically damaged, if not it still may be bad and is the most common cause for a no error condition and no light problem.

Red power light and buzzing sound with red lamp light.

My Sony lost its picture and had a flashing light. Unplugging for 36 hours solved the problem.

Sony Grand Wega 55" LCD ml # KDF-55WF655 goes protective shutdown

This is the lamp going bad. For some reason, it doesn't spit out that lamp error, it just keeps refiring the lamp and it just cycles forever. When the lamp totally fails, you will get the lamp led lit. Replace the lamp to resolve.

Green light flashing & no picture on Toshiba 40pw13p

There is problem with the lamp. It might need to be replaced. The lamp unit is on the bottom-left side of your TV. Loosen thumb screw (by hand) to take the the lamp unit door. Using a screwdriver, loosen two screws of the lamp unit and carefully pull the lamp unit out.
Put a new lamp in reverse order.

No picture coming from red lamp

Sounds like you have two differant problems. A red drive or red picture tube is bad and the conbvergence IC's are bad. To test the red drive disconnect the green picture tube socket BUT MAKE SURE THE SET IS UNPLUGGED!!Then remove the red socket and move over to the green tube. Then turn on the set. If you get the same out of the green then you have a drive problem that needs to be trouble shot for a bad componet. If you do get a picture with the red connected to the green then the red tube is shot. If you know how to read a schematic, get one and then you should have no problem troubleshooting the red drive and the convergence problem. If you dont then there is no easy or quick fix as this is a solid state set and there are no user replaceable parts inside this.,. Your going to need, for safetys sake, call in a trained tech to assist you with this repair
