Hi, I own a Samsung rear projection tv, model number hcn4226w. About 2 years ago, I had the convergence modules replaced. I stored the tv at a friends house for awhile, and when I got it back, it was in black and white in coaxial, and in A/V hookups. It still has color in Component and DVI, although there is a green tint where whites should be, especially around corners. It's a great picture and the colors are lined up great, so I don't think it's a convergence problem. But if I knew what was wrong, I wouldn't be asking here. Any advice would be great.
I think the problem is the Blue Bulb Going out causing the red and green to over power. I have this same model tv with the same problem. I was thinking that or the High Voltage board. When the Tv is on a black comercial it has red small flashes going, covering the screen.
Well the first thing i would do is bring up a cross hair pattern and check that the convergence is agained if it is then you have something else going on...
Sounds like the alignment of the convergence in that area needs to be preformed or you have a speaker or something in that corner
so when you adjust the convergence everytime is it gone then?
Sony Too green,red or blue
this is for a sony but your should be similar.

It's not like a speaker tint, it's all the white anywhere but right in the middle of the screen. The tv seems to have very earthy tones even when I put it on cool color tone. The light on the power button blinks red before it turns on, not green like it used to, but the tv still powers up fine.
I'm pretty tech savvy, so the convergence is old news for me. I have to readjust it every time i turn on the set. I know its more technical, I just don't want to waste money on the wrong part or something
Nope, that just gets the red and blue in line. It doesn't seem like it's the convergence. It almost seems like the green tube is overpowering the red and blue to give a green hue where white should be.
I will definately try that. It's something I haven't thought of. I will let you know the results.
Ok, so there doesn't seem to be any adjustments that look like those. There are adjustments right on the bottom of the lenses with wing nuts that I can loosen and then focus the light, but that seems to do nothing for my problem.
