The Whirlpool Corporation purchased the Hobart Kitchen Aid manufacturing unit in 1985.
I suggest you contact the Whirlpool Corp. directly and ask about the availability of a copy of a user manual for your model of Hobart mixers. Whirlpool probably took over the Hobart Kitchen Aid archival records. With luck the manual you need is still in the company archives.
This is the food mixer part of the Fixya forums, you probably need to be in the dishwasher forum don't you? That's not a mixer model number that I'm familiar with.
Hi AUER24, you can easily download both the Parts List manual for your K5SS mixer online from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home. Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> and enter the 6 character model number, in your case use KSM50P (Your K5SS mixer falls within this model range), and then select this file: KSM50P.pdf (438.31 KB) listed under Parts List (4).Check to verify they match your mixer model. You can save them to your PC hard drive, and then you can print a hard copy if you wish, or just refer to it when you need to use it. This particular manual provides both domestic US and International Part numbers, which you will want to use, based upon your 220 volts rating that tells me you have an international model. For future reference, here are five potential USA vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com; and Grainger.com (for grease). You should search for ‘food grade grease’ online (although I’ve seen automotive bearing grease used too – your call). Prices can vary widely between vendors, so do some comparison shopping. Also, here are some links to three excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able to completely disassemble, determine what’s wrong, order the correct parts and reassemble your mixer. Good luck. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA If this solution has helped you, please rate it, thanks! - hslincoln
the rotating plate needs to be pulled of and clean the grease out and only put two teaspoon dabs on ether end. to pull it of you will need to push the pin in the middle out and just lightly tap it back in.
