Just turn the hand wheel. The needle bar is the round bar that the needle is inserted into and is what makes the needle go up and down as you sew.

Janome mc5200 sewing machine E3 code need to fix it myself. Cannot find it in my instruction book

Hello Dear Jeff Moore!
greeting
FYI......
Needle bar is out of position. Press OK to move the needle bar to switching position. (Needle bar change over phase.) 3. Remove the stationary cover then turn the hand wheel to 270°. Using a 2.5mm hex driver, turn the silver gear on the needle-change step motor to move the head from needle bar #1 to #4 then back to #1 to check for any binds. If there is a bind, adjust 'head play' as shown in the service manual. 4. Check and adjust 'moving head stop position' and 'needle stop position' as shown in the service manual.

I am getting a message to raise presser foot and needle bar then turn on. The presser foot seems to be up. I dont know what the needle bar is. Please help?

The needle bar as the long vertical bar that the needle is attached to. Hand rotate the handwheel until the needle is at its highest position before it begins to descend.

Singer stylist 533 timing

1st time feed dogs to raise and lower in time with the needle bar going up and down. Fit needle and slowly turn balance wheel towards you until needle is at lowest point, note where hook point is. Turn balance wheel towards you very slowly and stop when needle has risen about 3/16" from it lowest point. The hook should be immediately behind the needle and slightly above the eye.

I can't get the foot to lower and raise.

it sounds like it's out of time--here's how to fix it
to adjust the pressure on the presser bar and in turn the foot, locate the thumb
screw at the top of the machine

by rotating the thumb screw clockwise, you will increase the pressure, a counter
clockwise turn will decrease the pressure

the correct height of the pressure foot from the needle plate is 7mm.
to adjust this clearence loosen the screw & adjust the pressure bar through
the guide
secure the screw firmly when the correct adjustment is obtained

the distance between the presser bar lifting arm & the presser bar guide should
be 0.5mm ..( be sure the needle bar does not rotate left or right during the
adjustment process. the needle must be center of the presser foot & needle
plate hole,, if this is not centered re-adjust to the center of both needle foot
& needle plate hole.

Re-time model Singer model 2010

For a close setting, the needle bar must raise about 1/8 inch when the hook point is behind the needle and the needle bar is in the middle of the needle opening on the needle plate.
You need to check the feed timing also after retiming the hook. The feed dog should start towards the rear as soon as the needle starts down.Good luck
