Portable generator head stopped making power

Portable Pramac diesel 10kw generatgr, after working fine for 36 nonstop hours, suddenly stopped making power. engine runs great. circuit breakers are ok.

Look at the voltage ammeter on the generator control panel, if the ammeter and voltmeter on the generator control panel is still 220 V, the output empty is turned off.


If the voltmeter on the generator control panel shows a voltage of 0, then your electric ball is broken, please check if the excitation voltage is missing, and check if the three-phase winding is burned.

The first thing I would look for would be internal fuses blown. This sounds like a 460 volt 12,000 watt industrial generator and you probably should call the installing contractor for service. My 15,000 watt generator is over 30 years old and has less than 700 hours on it and those are mostly test-run hours.

GE Generator 10kw model #040448. TRANSFER SWITCH FAULT message being displayed. Generator works fine. Generator output load voltage = 233V.
This generator has a built in transfer switch. If you do not have an external source of 240 volts going in to the unit (utility power), the transfer switch will show a fault or "abnormal" reading. If you do have utility power going in to the transfer switch, and the generator is on then you have a faulty transfer switch. It is time to warranty or get a replacement switch.

make sure gen isnt stopt on protection overtemperature or oil level or coolant level. try to bridge protections one by one to find the course. first make sure all fluids are on level and coolers are clean. fanbelt tension and coolantthermostat can also be wrong.

Motors fine, but no electricity - coleman 6250
pramac bought them out i just order parts today oct-15-08 call1-800-445-1805 took me awhile to get a hold of someone but she seemed to know what was going on. my guess is that the printed curciut board in the back of the generater head is bad i have had to change alot of these out.

My powermate pm0647000 stopped generating electricity.
Flash it !
Start your generator, plug a single speed drill into the recepticle, while the generator is running make sure the drill is in the forward posistion then turn the drill chuck couterclockwise with your hand untill your generator power's up.
This simple fix " excites " the stator.
