Try a cleaning kit and clean the game slot contacts and game cartridge.

SOURCE: Some nintendo dsi games work, some don't.

More than likely it's because the contacts are not conducting correctly; this is probably because they're dirty... try to clean them with some rubbing alcohol...
WARNING: if done wrong, this can damage things... so you might want to try looking up something on youtube witth video instructions...
The blowing idea isn't bad either (if the block is simple) and, hey, it worked on NES.... ;)

SOURCE: When i insert a game

Use a small torch and look inside the game slot. It is most likely that one of the contact pins has been bent and is not macking contact. If any pins look mor bent than the others you may be able to bend it back into place. Remove the battery before you try any repairs (the battery is under the battery cover on the bottom of the DSi). After removing the battery, use a suitable tool such as a small screwdriver or an unbent paperclip to gently bend the pin back to the same position as the other pins. If the pin is too far bent to be repaired, then the game slot can be replaced but this requires desoldering of the game slot and this is not a task for a novice.

Make sure that you have a DSi compatible Action Replay. If you do you may wish to return it because it sounds like your card is malfunctioning.

Two things: the dsi action replay will not stay inserted into the dsi consistently; when it does stay inserted and i want to switch back to a game (without the action replay), then the dsi doesn't...

  1. Action Replay Not Staying Inserted:
    • The issue with the Action Replay not staying inserted into the DSi may be due to a loose or damaged cartridge slot on the DSi or an issue with the Action Replay cartridge itself.
    • Check the Action Replay cartridge for any visible damage, including bent pins or connectors. If you find any, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
    • Try inserting other game cartridges into your DSi to see if they fit securely. If other cartridges also don't stay in place, it could indicate a problem with the DSi's cartridge slot.
  2. DSi Not Recognizing Game Cartridge:
    • If your DSi doesn't recognize that there's a game in the slot, this could be related to the Action Replay cartridge, or it could be a more general issue with the DSi.
    • Test this issue with regular game cartridges that are known to work. If the DSi still doesn't recognize them, there may be a problem with the cartridge slot.
    • If other game cartridges work fine, the issue may be specific to the Action Replay. In this case, you should contact the manufacturer or distributor for support or a replacement.
In either case, if the problem persists, you may want to consider having your DSi and Action Replay inspected or repaired by a professional technician, or contact Nintendo's customer support for further assistance. Make sure to follow their guidance and ensure that your DSi and accessories are in good working condition.
