Ryobi 18v lithium battery won't charge

I have a Ryobi 18v lithium battery that apparently won't charge. When I put it into the charger, the red light blinks for a couple seconds to do it's test and then goes solid red and the green light starts flashing. This says the battery is not faulty and it's charging. After awhile, the green light goes solid to say it's charged. However, when I take the battery out, I push the little tester on it and nothing. I have 2 batteries, both came in the same "kit" with the tools less than 2 years ago and the other battery charges/works just fine.

I have a P115 Ryobi Intelliport charger , will it charge the new lithium 18 V battery?

Ryobi P115 is an 18V battery charger. However, Ryobi Manual did not mention the current rating of P115. if the current rating of Ryobi P115 is 50% higher than your 18V Lithium Battery it will charge. but if it's less than or equal, it will not.

Just bought a Ruobi drill with 18V Lithium Batteries. Been chatging for over an hour. Still not charged. Just the bottom Green light stays on. Is this normal? How long does it take?

The Ryobi charger will flash green as it charges and then remain steady or slowly flashing green when fully charged. Flashing red means testing and if it remains steady or slowly flashing red it is defective.

I bought 2 P103 lithium batteries and they will not take a charge from my one + (p110) charger. I was informed that these components are all interchangeable. Will the P103s work with the blue 18v ryobi...

That is true the One+ 18V Li-Ion battery packs will work in any One+ 18V Ryobi tool. However the Lithium ion batteries will not charge in the original P110 NiCd charger. You will need one of the the new series Ryobi One+ 18V "dual chemistry" chargers for that. The will charge both types of battery packs.

Can you charge ryobi lithium batteries in a regular ryobi charger?

NO! Never charge lithium batteries in a charger designed for nickle based batteries like the NiHi your old charger was meant for. Ryobi did design the new Lithium charger to be backwards compatible so you can charge your older 18V NiHi batteries in the Lithium 18V charger.
Also note, NEVER miss-match the voltage, for example, make sure you are not trying to charge 12V batteries in an 18V charger unless the manufacturer has specifically stated that the charger is capable of multiple voltages.

I just bought a combo 18V Ryobi blower P2102 and trimmer P2002 which also came with a charger P113 and Ryobi lithium battery. I charged the 18V lithium P104 battery 48WH till light turned solid green on...

The battery will power your equipment for 30 to 45 minutes, that is normal. What you're thinking of is the lifespan of a lithium battery. It with your battery will last 10 times longer than a regular NiCad battery. So you will be able to charge the battery and use it Hundreds of times before the Battery Life is depleted. Sounds like it's working as designed

Does it harm a Ryobi 18v lithium battery to leave on Charger?

Lithium-Ion batteries require careful charging and temperature monitoring while in the charger. Ryobi's Charging station monitors many functions and shuts off when the battery has gone through a complete charge. This is indicated by a steady Green light. Once the Charge indicator is a steady green the charger stops charging. With any battery It will slowly discharge and I don’t think the Ryobi will maintain a battery that is never removed. For example, if after a complete charge cycle if the battery was left there for 2 years and then you went to use it, it would likely be completely discharged. However if the battery charger is unplugged then plugged back in a new charge sequence would start. I lose power at my house about every 6 months or so. Once power is restored a new cycle would start and the charging cycle begins again.
Hope this helps and have a great day.

Ryobi lithium batteries won't take charge

For others with the same problem (flashing red light won't go off)...make sure you FIRMLY PUSH the battery down onto the charger and engage the latches. Simply resting the battery on the charger will not work.
