Denon AVR-2807; no sound from tv/dvd, but works for wii/radio

Heya all. Sorry to bother you all with something this simple, but I can't seem to figure it out. Have a Denon AVR-2807, which appears to be working fine, and can get radio to emit, but can't get sound from dvd/tv; can get the wii to work via vcr-aux (front connection) as well; I think the wife set it for 7ch instead of the default I had of 5.1 (have a full home theater, but even if I click my harmony remote for 5.1, it stays on 7channel. Any suggestions? [email protected] same problem

Can't get the sound to work on my TV using the Denon AVR-2807

In the 2807 the HDMI out is a video out only. Audio is not processed through the HDMI output.
If you are using speakers it is best to adjust the playback modes to stereo if you are annoyed with surround sound modes.
Please comment if I helped.

Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!
Cheers,

Lost picture on my AVR-2807

There is a video select button on the receiver. Press it and it toggles through all of the video sources. Keep pressing it until the display says video=source.

I need to set multi coponets

Your best set up is to plug the DVD and the direct tv optical or coaxial out. The Denon has both. You will then have to choose digital input on the receiver. There is a blue indicator light that will light and a graphic that will show all speakers are working. There is also a pink noise test that will play each speaker in order. This test button is located on the remote.

Loss of sound on the Denon AVR 2807 a/v surround receiver when I turn on and off lights in my house

Finally the problem was with the HDMI cable. When I pushed it in on the TV set the problem disappeared. It seems the connections must be quite firm on the HDMI cables otherwise anything may interfere to the sound.
