Sounds like burn-in. Yep, LCD TVs can have it too. If you look close, I would bet you will the channels that has the bars down each side line up pretty good with that shadowy line. I have spoken with Samsung about this issue in the past, they will not cover it.

A black image appears and goes away every once in awhile. you can still see the picture but the part that has dark image looks all ugly.

When you have video display problems such as shadows and lines that go away after warming up, or come and go during viewing, it is usually the LVDS cable and T CONN board going bad. The screen can have one of the following or combinations of blurs, different layers of brightness and lines. It could be the backlight but most of the problems with the LNT4661F have been this.

I had the shadow and line problem and replaced both the cable and board for $120 and that fixed my problem. The TV was only 18 months old. Since I had the TV apart, I went ahead and replaced the capacitors on the power supply board so I wouldn’t run into the clicking problem that also affects this model TV. You can find the parts numbers for the LNT4661F cable and board below. You can find links to YouTube ( Part 1 & 2) to show how to replace the capacitors. Good luck.

Vertical colour lines on whole screen

The problem is that the panel has failed. Apparently this is a common problem with LCD TV's between 18 mths and 3 yrs old. If it survives over 3 yrs it is likely to last for a few years longer. The cost of replacing the panel is more than a replacement TV!

Samsung le32r7 2yrs old

Well the shadow is caused by the pixels going dead. There is a term for this "dead pixels" if its still under warrenty take it in. If its not you may be able to get a new screen for it on Ebay.com I use ebay a lot and boy I found thing I though I would never find people are very informative and you will probably need to take the screen you bought to a repair shop and have them place it in for you. this is not a quick fix so I hope this helps.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Samsung LE26T73BD

The amplifiers driving that portion of the screen have partially failed.
Sorry, this is a pretty common LCD problem.
If it is under warranty, call them.
If not, plan on replacing the main control module.

LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.
