Have you tried accessing the on screen menu and maybe changing the input type to cable or even line in if you are using rca (red/white/yellow) plugs to connect the cable box to the television?
This sounds like you have lost your power supply. The more expensive the equipment, the more sophisticated the power supply that converts the power from your outlet into your television. There could have been a lightning strike that has disabled the tv. Or it could be a faulty outlet. Before called for a technician, I recommend plugging the television into a different outlet. use a good quality extension cord if necessary. You may find that your outlet is not polarized correctly. try unplugging the 3 wire plugs for the convergence yokes and try powering up the set. if it comes on you will need convergence ICs if it doesnt you will need a deflection board. let me know what you discover as I can help you with either problem
