Please look for clock sign on buttons to turn on-off timer function. Press clock symbol button to turn on timer function, press shutter button to start timer (10 seconds delay) to take picture.

This FE-340 Olympus is a great camera. Lots of features and usually great results
Indoor pictures with flash set on auto WB (white balance) should not be a problem
Indoor pictures without flash requires setting the WB to match the light source in the room (incandescent, florescent etc) Outdoor pictures WB on auto generally not a problem

If your menus work and you have no picture in recording mode, either movie or single, then your possible problem is that the CCD sensor has a problem. See if it is still coverd by the manufacture, if not sell it for parts on Ebay or some such website.
I have exactly the same problem. I am writing an email to Olympus for further advice. I beleive there is some replacement policy as this seems to be a manufacturer problem.
Hi, The problem is the firmware of the camera it seems to be corrupted.Firmware is the software installed in the camera which controls all the functions.Please contact any service center to upgrade the firmware as doing it yourself may harm the cam.
your lens may be damaged...your zoom assignments may need to be realligned if there are no broken parts. If there are broken parts in your lens it may be better to get a new lens
