I need a diagram for the wiring on the pedal of a 756 Brute

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Motorguide Varimax Great White trolling motor. Here is a diagram of the upper control housing for the 2009 model that may be helpful:

1. Control housing assembly
2. Tilt tube assembly
3. Steering shaft assembly
4. Tension spring
5. Speed control knob
6. Directional indicator
7. Steering handle assembly

Regarding the issue with the motor only running in reverse, it is possible that there is a problem with the control housing assembly or the wiring connections to the motor. Rotate handle 180 degrees.

i think its time to strip this motor out,, it sounds like its has a short in the field coil winding,,as its pulling far to many amps,,,,

here is a wire diagram. follow the pictures. you can do fuses but i like inline breakers. you can get them at your local outboard dealer.

The white wire is the ground. The black wire is neg. and the red wire is pos.

you will probably find it is either a switch problem or your wiring this is a twist handle?
