People on other posts said to get a wall charger and that'll work. We looked for one, but couldn't find one. We ended up using a usb camera upload cord that had the same connector. It charged just fine after that. We have a 180 Eclipse mp3 player...I'm guessing the cord connectors are pretty universal.

I had problem with Eclipse CLD - won't charge/connect to PC. Problem Solved! Try another USB cable - that simple! The one I used I bought at the Dollar Tree Store for $1.00. If you are trying this idea, bring your original USB (short length) cable with you to match the shape and size of your Eclipse connector since the store has different ones. Good luck! Charging away listening to Deadmau5 through the PC and a 3.1 FROM the Eclipse.

SOURCE: Eclipse MP3 Player

The official unofficial REAL Answer is here!!

I swore it off as Junk untill I took the time to figure this out.
When charging the power swith needs to be in the "ON" position.
Charge for around 3-5 hrs.
To turn device ON You hold down the Play/Pause button for quite some time, (much more time than expected from other players, cellphones or devices) the unit should power up and display "ECLIPSE".
I thought I was "taken" and strange when I saw the link for Qresolve within the files of something that did not work.
Theres even an EQ feature in the Menu and the sound is pretty decent. Good Luck!

I plugged my mp3 player into my computer and how can I tell if it is charging and when it is done charging?

Go to "my computer" (or whatever it's called in your operating system) and right click on the MP3 icon, pick properties it will show a battery with the percent of charging.

The mp3 player wont charge. plug into computer and it shows charging but as soon as it is disconnected it shuts off and wont turn on.

Some mp3's don't expressly charge on the computer, that why when you connect it, the computer only sees it as a flash but is not actually charging it all this while and the battery is completely down. So try and get an external charger for it, the battery may be completely dead.Or probably you need to change the battery. Hope that puts a smile on your face.

Nextar MA715 MP3 player wont take a charge.

Best first bet is dead battery. If it is a special battery then do the costings for the repair as it may be cheaper to replace the player.
