Ps3 console will play ps2 games but does not load ps3 games

PS2 internal Memory is set aside so you have the ability to play PS2 games. Its basicly an Emulator.

You're blu-ray drive has partially died. It's a three part laser (cd, dvd, blu-ray). The most important part of yours has died that's why you can still play dvd and PS2 games because they use the dvd laser and not the blu-ray.

SOURCE: ps3 problems will not load ps3 games

Sounds like your blueray drive is having issues, I would recomend calling sony ( their number is on the ps3 website) and tell them yout situation. They will either walk you through a fix or you will have to get it repaired, which means they will send you a box and you send the ps3 to them. If you have a warranty you are fine, if not you will pay approx $180.

this is not known but the ps3 games could not be played if they were very scratched up
