No screen I bought a emachines w3107 pc and it didnt last 2 years. One day my wife was on it and told me the screen went black and then came back on. The next day it went black and stayed black. The procesor fan runs continuosly fast at 100%. Any idea as to if this is the problem ( processor) I unplugged it and still no screen.

The dying hdd cause some problems. Replace the hdd.

Whoever performed the work, wiped out the recovery partition on the hard drive. You can try contacting eMachines to get a set of recovery disks for your PC.

also get onto the police and report that repairman as he's charged you for a job he hasn't done and using illegal software.

goto www.emachines.com, go to support, enter your operating system, and select drivers and find your sound card drivers and download and re install them and re boot and you should have your sound.

You can fix this virus without recovering.

Log in normally. Go to run, type in msconfig and go to the startup tab. Uncheck everything and reboot your pc. Once there try your internet. If it's not working go to Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings, and uncheck anything in your proxy settings. Close IE and reopen. You should be able to connect. Then download and run Malwarebytes, and then run Bitdefender Online scanner.

The only other thing that may be trouble is that there may be a rootkit that neither scanner will detect. You can run Combofix, but this program isn't for the average user. Follow instructions carefully when using Combofix.
